SWIMMING WITH THE DOLPHINS... A TRANSFORMATIONAL EXPERIENCE!

It was such a stifling hot July that I decided to run away to Cuba to get away from the heat!  Having visited Cuba regularly since the 80's, it's almost like going to the cottage for me.
 
This time I decided to spend a day with the dolphins.  It was a bit of an ethical dilemma,as I am no fan of caging and cooping up creatures of any kind.  I was assured that the dolphins at this location were in a fenced off bay and had the run (swim?) of a laggoon.  So, I climbed into a 1050 Chevy, and off I went.
 
The show came first and then we went in the water.  Fortunately, it was not a random interaction; the trainers controlled the whole situation.  I was moved to tears as I caressed the dolphins' bellies, looked directly in their eyes, and generally got to feel myself in their presence.   
 
WHAT PEOPLE NEED MOST!

As a small business owner, and a retired teacher, I have discovered that what people need most... is to be heard!  I knew this as a teacher, as I listened to my probably thousands of students, because they would often let me know that "I was there" for them. Meeting them once in awhile as adults, that was what they remembered.  No memory of the course or subject matter!
 
It's no different at Earthsong Village.  I have met so many lovely people who have bared their souls as I listened.  Deaths, surgeries, relationship breakups, social injustices... all are brought to the table.  And I personally indulge in letting them hear my issues too! It gets very lively here!  Laughter and tears.  Lots of energies.  Really cool!
 
Oh yes, and did I mention I have some fabulous art, fashions and accessories for sale??!!

Bijou! The spirit of Earthsong

Welcome to my new blog!
Earthsong Village attracts the most interesting people, and we regularly find ourselves in great conversations on the most amazing issues!
I invite you to join the blog and contribute your thoughts, suggestions, concerns... whatever!
I will start things off with news of my new bundle of joy - no panic, he is of the canine variety!.  I brought Bijou into my life 2 weeks ago and he will be in the store much of the time.  Bijou is a fluffy black Standard Poodle, 4 months old and has the most loving temperament I have ever experienced in a dog.  He keeps me company and delights the customers.  I am training him to stay with me and only greet people when they are willing.
As most of you know I live in the building and have created a nice yard for him.  When either of us is pooped, Bijou gets to go upstairs and crash in the living room.
What do you think?  Do you like the idea of Bijou  hanging out at Earthsong Village? Do dogs make us more human?  Any interesting stories/
